Easy Hershey's Cupcakes

Here's another cupcake post just in time for Valentine's day! I will start by saying that I'm not being paid by Hershey's. I just really love this cupcake mix. When you eat these scrumptious little cakes, you'll forget that they came from a box mix at all. Not that a store-bought cupcake is guaranteed to be better than one from a box, but typically they're not associated with being high quality. In this case, though, the cupcakes are moist, flavorful, inexpensive, and they are guaranteed to be fresh every time!

First of all, you need to buy the Hershey's Premium Cupcake Mix and the Hershey's frosting. This is very important. Next, step is to pick your favorite chocolate candy. I've found that candies with a filling in them, like Reese's, work well because you get the gooey chocolate in the middle of the cupcake followed by the tasty filling in the candy. You'll also need to purchase the ingredients listed on the back of the cupcake box. You will need 3/4 cup water, 1/3 cup vegetable oil, 2 eggs, and 12 paper baking cups. My special addition to the baking process is the candy in the middle. Choose a "fun size" similar to what people hand out for Halloween.

After you've made the batter according to the instructions on the box, pour half of the batter into the cups, place your candy of choice in the center of each cup, and top with the remaining batter. This step ensures that the candy doesn't get exposed to the straight oven heat so it remains ooey and gooey. Now cook the cupcakes according to the instructions on the box, allow them to cool for about 1 hour, and frost them. If you're feeling adventurous, you certainly could use a different frosting. In some cases you may need a different frosting for a color scheme or because of allergies. If you can, though, I really recommend the whole Hershey's package because they're really the best and easiest cupcakes you can make at home.
