Peep Show Part Deux: Peep Trifle

Happy Good Friday Foodie Friends! I'm sure you're all gearing up for your Easter Sunday dinners. Make sure that you check out all of our Easter items from last year to make sure you don't miss some extra goodies. You may or may not recall, but I love Peeps. These fluffy little bunnies and chicks are truly one-of-a-kind. Last year I showed you a few ways to use Peeps, and I figured it was only fitting to give you another idea for this year's festivities.


Making a trifle is really no big deal at all! They're really simple and come down to the presentation in the big glass dish. Holly has made a few in the past that I would encourage you to check out! Here's what I used for mine:

INGREDIENTS
1 Box White Cake Mix
1 container of heavy whipping cream
Assortment of Peeps
Food Coloring
Easter sprinkles (like these)

Whip up the cake batter as normal, and then to make it fun, separate it in to three bowls and give the cake mix some color. Add in Easter sprinkles, then pour into cake pan and bake.


While the cake is baking, go ahead and make your whipped cream. Alternatively (re: if you don't have a mixer of some sort - Lord knows I wouldn't want to do it by hand) you could use Cool Whip and it would still be tasty.

When the cake is done cut off the top layer of "crust" and then cube up the cake.

In the trifle dish, go ahead and lay down the layers. Mine was a bottom layer of whipped cream, followed by cake on the inside and Peeps on the outside and then another layer of whipped cream, cake and Peeps and then topped with whipped cream.

I loved the way this turned out and would make a great centerpiece at the dinner table until it's ready to serve.
